awesum
found a crt in my nanna’s garage and wanted to hook my roku box to it. this little adapter makes it work perfectly!!! no issues whatsoever and easy to install. only downside is that because of streaming, watching older media is a pain because of sidebars you can’t do much about. but that’s more of a pet peeve lol :p

it does it's job and well worth the moolah
there are 2 versions of this adapter just so you know .but I got this "HDMI TO AV" (AV to hdmi is the other) to connect my SNES classic mini to a CRT TV and it works great.update: I thought this thing died out on me because I was still getting picture and no audio and thought my speakers blew out until I noticed it was all my devices.I was about to return it until I tried a simple power cycle which fixed it.but you have to disconnect the HDMI input into the converter AND power cable going into the converter (just one connection disconnected won't work).after about 30 secs should fix it.first time it's happened since I got it so hope this helps someone from returning it like I was going too.

Pretty good
It works well, looks like they fixed the flipped PAL/NTSC switch as it works properly for me. Apparently it can be powered off HDMI in certain circumstances. Video quality is about as good as you're gonna get with Composite Video, don't expect the signal to suddenly be as good as HDMI because we're talking a years old standard that often outputs a maximum resolution of 480p. Helps keep old CRT TVs useful, can be used to plug in modern game consoles/PCs, streaming dongles, etc into a CRT TV or pre-HDMI LCD TV.The only real gripe I have about the product is how obviously cheap and light it is. Then again, you only paid so much for it. I would also complain about the lack of included Composite cables but I bought some General Electric branded Composite cables and they worked great, getting cables from a trusted brand is a better idea imo anyways. If you want better video quality, though, look elsewhere (like S-Video or RGB) as this thing is very much hampered by the limitations of Composite Video, which is no fault of the product as much as the standard itself.

Great little box that does what advertised to do
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I got this to use with a retro-style game console that only has HDMI and VGA as outputs. This unit works surprisingly well, even without the use of the USB cable (in the box) for power. I got a steady image and a very playable setting. There was no lag or delay either in the video or the audio feed.

Works as advertised
Works as advertised to convert HDMI to AV. I have had this for several months now and use it distribute channel 3 to our household TVs via a channel 3 AV converter to our household cable system.

Works great with a good cable
I really only want to point out one important thing, the quality of your RCA cable (R/W/Y) is important for this device to record properly. The first time I used it I connected the first RCA cable I found laying around. It was a really cheapo lightweight cable and the results were not so good. The video was dropping frames and I was considering returning it. As a last ditch effort I looked for a better quality cable and found one that is probably three times the thickness of the cheapo cable. Now the recordings are exceptional. Just a little FYI, I'm using it to record video from the HDMI output of a Roku Express to the RCA input of a device that is no longer available for purchase (at least what I can find). I record to a Phillips HDD (hard disk) and DVD player/recorder. This is the best $10 I've spent in quite some time.

Had to return
I can’t give this device a poor rating because I purchased the wrong item. This is HDMI input to RCA output.I purchased a new smart tv that lacks the RCA jacks necessary for old DVD units. I bought solely on price.I returned this and our ordered to proper AV to HDMI unit which solved my needs.

Easy, simple.
Simple and easy to use. Used it with an Apple TV and an old CRT TV, hardest thing was not forgetting to plug everything up.
