Q: Are there supposed to be holes in the bottom of the basket? I just received my basket and pot yesterday and opened today and the basket has holes

No, there should not be holes in the bottom. The entire basket should be completely weaved all throughout the circumference of the basket. The steam will seep through the weaved edges throughout the stemming process. If they sent you a basket with holes at the bottom, there’s no sense in return due to shipping and cost, just place a cheese cloth at the bottom to hold the rice in so it doesn’t fall through the bottom. Not really sure, I'm sure a long time, I have only had it for about a year
