Q: What material is the Outside of the pouch?

When I first received this 2 pack I washed them both in warm soap water. The canvas material did absorb water after being submerged and quickly dried out. The interior is definitely waterproof excluding the zipper and gaps for ventilation on zipper. I definitely recommend this product. Easily fits 14 pairs of my 9.5 in chopsticks! Great material outside and in.

Q: Is the pouch dishwasher safe?

Care instructions stated hand wash only. Even on the top rack, a dishwasher would be too harsh for the materials. They would probably be ok in a clothes washer, enclosed in a delicates bag, and on a delicate cycle. However, both a dish and clothes washer would not be effective cleaning the inside of the pouch.
