Simple, inexpensive solution
Sure, if your derailleurs are perfectly adjusted, you're unlikely to throw a chain. I bought this for a friend's bike, because I know that it won't likely be tuned up all that often. I've had one on my main road bike for several years and have only had a dropped chain once in all that time. I'll be buying another one soon for one of my other bikes. Be sure to get the right size to fit your seat tube.

Simple Fix, Works Great!
Had a recurring problem of dechaining during shifts to the front small chain ring. Adjustment didn't help much. Decided to try the Dog Fang for a long ride where a dechain would have been a hassle. Very light and easy to install. Sure enough, as careful as I was, the bike tried to dechain at an inopportune time. The Dog Fang kept the chain from slipping off, and a quick backpedal and it was back in place with no lost time and no greasy fingers. Great simple product and idea, thanks.

Works well, great design.
Simple, light and very effective. Great design. Can save a very expensive frame. For a few dollars you get chain-suck insurance.

Does it's Job Great.
It does the job. Simple. Wide enough to catch a chain. Easy to position. I didn't give it five stars because of 2 things: 1. The bolt is a combo Phillips / Flat head instead of a hex like pretty much every other fastener on a bicycle and 2. At least on my bike, the bolt head point directly at my down tube, preventing me from using a real screw driver to tighten it down. I had to bust out my Crank Brothers multi tool in order to tighten it down. So buyer beware if you dont have some kind of stubby screw driver or multi tool to tighten it down.

Simple but effective
I occasionally experience dropped chain on all of my bikes. My front derailleurs are all properly set up and dialed in for each bike. So after a recent dropped chain experience I decided to look into chain catchers. For a couple of my bikes the seat tube is round so a simple unit like this Deda dog fang would work. Got this installed and within the first week it did its job while out of the saddle and powering up a steep incline. I heard the chain hit the dog fang then it dropped onto the small chain ring as it is supposed to. It does the job so I am happy with this.

Works great!
It does what it's supposed to do. It keeps the chain from slipping off the innermost chainring. The person who designed this is a genius. It's simple; it's easy to install; and it works like a charm. I highly recommend it.

Chain Guide Really Works
This is my third bicycle with a Chain Guide. I know there are slightly cheaper ones, but most likely you get what you pay for. The plastic on this model is very hard, unlikely your chain will eat it up. My last bike had a non-circular down tube and it was difficult to keep the chain guide firmly attached. I wouldn't recommend this product for that kind of bike tube. But, for a circular tube, if you order the correct size (measure the down tube diameter before ordering), this is one of the best buys you can make. I have Campagnolo derailleurs which allow me to downshift both the front crank sprocket and several gears at a time on the rear cassette. When performing this action, invariably, I would lose the chain off the front crank sprocket. This NEVER happens with the chain guide attached. Install it so it is about 1/8" clear of the chain, just so they can't rub together. And, then, forget it. It will always do its job and save countless times getting off the bike and reinstalling the chain. Enjoy..
