It works awesome and is super easy!
There will be more to come on this product, but it is receiving 3 stars for now as I had a functioning unit for less than 2 months before the unit stopped working. Fantastic idea and I am hoping that it is just a bad main unit and I can get back to business. 3 stars became 4 stars after the very quick response by J-Tech. 4 stars became 5 stars after getting a replacement. The HDMI signal is making it to 3 TV's in the house perfectly! What you need to do.1. Get Ethernet cables that can reach when you need them to. (Make sure they are using 568B. Easy way to tell is to make sure Orange is not in the middle, but all the way on the side.)2. Plug your HDMI source into the Main splitter unit3. Run Ethernet to all the receivers. (This is can be a test run that's not in your walls first for proof of concept.)4. Plug in power for everything and enjoy the video and audio on every TV connected! This is what I did and this is how it worked out. I was able to watch the same source in multiple rooms. Super easy and it worked like that for about a month or month and a half. Now, I have submitted a support request to J-Tech to see if they can help me figure out why it will no longer make a connection. I understand that Quality Assurance can only do so much and that lemons exist. So, I don't believe that this product is just garbage. I'm hoping to get a new unit and be able to enjoy this unit again!Ethernet CablesYou will want to make them or order them and verify that they are using the 568B standard. This is the second HDMI over Ethernet that I have had that required 568B and I'm not sure of the specific reasoning. If you are building cables or buying them to connect a laptop, desktop, or printer to the network, you can have the cable terminated with 568A or 568B as long as both ends of the cable are the same. With this device, it requires 568B on both ends of every Ethernet cable.** 1/8/2016 UpdateUpdate to review as I did receive feedback directly from J-Tech and within a few emails, all within about an hour, they have provided me the RMA process. I am upgrading this review to like it as I understand that everything can't be perfect all the time. If a company is willing to actually work with the customer, then that is what is important. There just isn't any real way to have 100% Quality unless you are paying a lot for the guarantee. :) I will update again as the process continues.** 1/20/2016 UpdateI have a fully working setup. I have combined this splitter to take an XB1 and push it to 3 different TV's in the house. Combined with a USB over Ethernet, I can run 2 Ethernet cables from the XB1 to wherever the TV is. 1 Ethernet cable handles the TV signal and plugs from the splitter to the wall attachment. The second Ethernet cable runs from a USB over Ethernet extender and plugs into a powered USB 3.0 hub by the XB1 and the controller by the TV. I have had some issues with power for the Xbox One controller and my put a powered USB hub by the TV so that the controller can get power.I can play games or push my Amazon Fire TV that is plugged into the Xbox One HDMI input to any TV in the house. So, one Amazon TV works all over. I'm currently theorizing adding another one of these setups. If I had an Amazon FireTV plugged into one splitter and the Xbox One with an Amazon Fire TV plugged into another one, I could setup every TV in the house to have 2 different inputs. One for the House Fire TV and the other for the Xbox One with its own Fire TV. Sorry, just theorizing and rambling.Long story short, this thing does exactly what I was hoping for and does it at an amazing price point. I can pretty easily highly suggest it. You may want/need it professionally installed and they give you wall plates to make it super clean.

Excellent product and value
I bought this J-Tech 1x4 HDMI Extender Splitter combo for our church to use to send video of our sermon from our streaming system to monitors in the lobby and nursery. It works just as well as a Tripp-Lite extender combo we are using elsewhere but cost substantially less. We are only using it on runs of about 100 feet, which is short of the stated range of about 165 feet so I cannot vouch for how it works at maximum range. At 100 feet, however, it is performing flawlessly. In fact, I just had the church purchase another one of these to server additional monitors.

Great product and service
I bought to expand HD tv coverage from 1 TV to 4 TV's at our cottage. I looked quite a bit for at this type of product. I really only found this and the monoprice unit. I was concerned about the Monoprice one because reviews said that it did not last. I couldn't use just a regular HDMI splitter because I needed to run cable far and using Cat5 has worked great and was pretty cheap. I am not an expert on these products but the J-Tech seems high quality and it works so far. I have one TV hooked up out the HDMI out and 2 hooked up off the Cat5 so far. I am planning on adding another. I did not realize when I ordered it that there was even an HDMI out on the box so I didn't know that you could actually hook up up to 5 tv's. I didn't use the remote extensions so I can't say how well those work. I am hoping for longevity in the product so I will update the review if the need arises. So far I am impressed.Update: I have bought 2 of these systems. Both work great. The only issue I have run into was that one of the receivers went bad at one point. I contacted J-Tech and they sent me a prepaid packing slip so I could send it back and then they replaced it free of charge.

Trust J-Tech Digital.... Surveilance Application
I purchased the J-Tech Digital 1x4 ProAV Premium quality HDMI signal splitter/amplifier (9-20-17) to provide multiple remote viewing points for my home surveillance system. For my application, the longest overall length used is 110 ft of unshielded Cat6 patch cable and the signal is CRISTAL CLEAR! This unit split one source signal via HDMI cable from the Digital Watchdog surveillance DVR into four signals. I ran four different lengths of Cat6 UNSHIELDED patch cable; 25', 50', 75' and 100' from the base unit through the attic and inside the walls to each TV. (The cables where purchased from CableWholesale.com) Using RiteAV 1 Gang 1port Cat6 Wall Plates attached to Arlington LV1-1CS Single Gang low voltage mounting brackets (both purchased at Amazon). This made for a clean professional installation. Using another 10 ft of Cat6 unshielded patch cable connecting the wall outlets to the J-Tech receiver. Then it was a simple HDMI cable (purchased at Amazon) connection from the receiver to the TV. The system has been running continuously now for one week without any problems. If this changes I will update this post. For now, I am extremely pleased with the reliability and picture quality. I can't comment of the IR or other features this system provides since they are not part of my set up. I definitely recommend buying J-Tech Digital JTDHDEX1X4 ProAV Premium HDMI Extender/Amplifier/Splitter!Update: 9/11/23Replaced two receivers due to lightning strike. The system has been running continuously since 9/20/17. Less expensive to purchase this entire setup than to replace the two receivers. HIGHLY recommend this product.Update: July,29, 2019One of the four J-Tech Digital Receivers has failed. Model: JTDHDEX 1x4Update: April,10, 2018The system has proven to be 100% reliable. Highly recommend this product!

They work great when they work but seem to be unreliable for ...
In 2 years I have had failure on 3 out of 4 of these units. They work great when they work but seem to be unreliable for the long run.
