Its a PAIR for 20$ and yes they are pretty cheap
The description header called this item a "light". They are a pair. I bought two lights and ended up with 2 pair. [...] dollars is cheap for 1 light, for a pair I would have passed them by. For 55 Watt halogen lights they are dim and yellow. My 6 year old headlights are way brighter. The light itself looks nice but the mounting hardware is pressed sheet steel, very thin and bends just breathing on it. They are already catching moisture inside after 2 days. I will try to put 100 watt bulbs in them and see if there is any hope since I fashioned brackets already. Im probably throwing good money after bad.A great idea : a slim, plastic housed, bargain off road light. In this implementation it is almost useless. Not at all what I expect from Pilot :CShame Shame...UPDATE 10/26: I added 100 watt bulbs and some washers to the mount points and it is brighter and little more rigid. They still feel weak but are acceptable with the brighter bulbs even though they do not have a BEAM but a lighted AREA. The moisture inside dried up but one of the lights is not firmly in the housing and I had to tape the top. I have to admit I will replace them without much hesitation. It was not a good use for [...]$. Sorry Pilot, they really are fair at best.

Good lights for the price.
I think these lights are good for the price. I'm not a serious off-roading person, so these lights will do just fine for the brightness I need and look on my jeep. Much cheaper than at the local auto store near me.

pilot comes.through again
I ordered 5 sets.of lights from Calvin and his gang at Pilot. They always come through with quality products at a great price.point with a complete installation package from light, wiring, switch, fuse and east instructions!! Great job Pilot

The price was right and they look good on my car. If you are looking for super bright lights to compliment your high beams though....these aint it.

GOOD BUY FOR $23 BUCKS
Good lights form 23 dollars. I had to install 100 watt bulbs to get the amount of light i was looking for.Easy to install new bulbs. the 100 watt bulbs were about 8 bucks each at the auto parts store, But overall i was happy with my purchase.

You get what you pay for
Even though they aren't very bright, they're worth the low price. If you're just looking for lights to cosmetically dress up your car and not actually light up the road, they are definitely worth it.

Pilot performs as expected. Haters gonna hate.
Essentially these are a Hella 500 clone with a cheap wiring harness. Decent beam, but you need to make your own wiring harness to get full power to the bulbs. use atleast 14 gauge wire, a relay and a good inline fuse holder. the 18 gauge wire they come with would work good for trigger wire for the 86 terminal on the relay. 18 gauge and a relay melted a fuse holder and wire loom on some similar lights, big no no. Whatever comes with the hella lights probably isn't up to par either. The lights duplicate the 500s design in the way the lens mounts, the shape of the light bucket and the size too. You can get some conduit hanger for lowes or another home improvement store for less than $5 and use them to mount these to a grill guard. You can go with 100 watt bulbs, but I'd step it up to 12 gauge wire and a different fuse. Wattage/ volts = amps. most lights operate at most on 14 volts, but atleast 12.8 volts is ideal.

Cheap but they do work
I picked up a set of these thin lights in 2010 to go on an 02 Ford Escape 4x4 that we use as a daily driver and to tromp the old logging roads in the Oregon Cascades. Once mounted to a Carr Light Wing on the Escape these lights look good without the cheesy plastic covers, although we do still use the covers during winter to avoid damage due to cinder or other road debris kicked up from other vehicles. The lights' output is no better than a regular 55w headlight bulb so upgraded bulbs and wiring harness is suggested. These lights are still working after six years, although the covers' black lettering has faded significantly due to weathering and UV exposure. If I were looking for another set of slim lights I may consider another set of these. 4/5 stars.
