Nice knife for the price
This is not your typical EDC. The knife is heavy but fits well in jeans. Forget about wearing it with dress pants. The blade is thick and has a nice profile. The tri-lock is unbeatable. Sharp out of the box but with a few swipes on a strop, it becomes razor sharp. Very nice grips. The clip was too tight and required a little bending to fit right. Otherwise, a lot of knife for the money with typical Cold Steel quality.

Really big folding knife. Overbuilt and Sturdy
This is one of those what the heck did I do situations. This thing is big, too big really. But it has its place. If you need a camp knife to be rough with look no further. If you can pick up a watermelon with one hand this is your knife. It’s not too heavy for its size and it is comfortable to use. Just big, almost as big as my K-bar in a folding style knife. And it’s a thick blade. With (budget) good steel that holds a decent edge and can be easily sharpened in the field. Probably the best $35 I’ve spent on something I didn’t really need. No regrets.

It is what it is. An inexpensive beast
I have had the original SR1. It’s a good knife but this SR1 Lite is also great at a third of the price. 8cr14mov is not a bad steel either and will do fine for most everyday tasks. Yeah I like high end steels too but usually those become safe queens where as the SR1 Lite I don’t worry about using. The fit and finish is good. Perfect centering and locks up solid and is also quite smooth. It has nylon washers but so does the original. It’s basically the same knife and the only difference between the SR1 and the Lite is the steel and G10. That’s it. It’s built the same and the Lite even uses a G10 back spacer like the original SR1.The lock bar has two areas that were ground off but for this price I could care less. You will be hard pressed to find a tank of knife like this at this price. Totally worth it.I still give it 5 stars. I literally got a $300 Benchmade that was off centered and could be fixed whereas the SR1 Lite is perfect. In the pic the centering looks off but it’s the camera angle.

Great knife
This was my every day carry for several years. Love this knife. Thick blade, super sharp, tight lockup and very nice steel. Comfortable to use and a joy to own. Highly recommended.

Really nice but I think I got a faulty clip on mine.
Finally got some Cold Steel's that I wanted. Couldn't pass this one up.Pro's: Cheap, great lock, sturdy blade. Sharp as hell.Cons: Clip broke after getting it off the belt after a few uses.Yes the clip is super sturdy and super tight to the knife but where I had to really pull it off the belt, I heard a twang and it broke.I'm putting this down to nothing other than a defect on the clip as all the other parts of the knife are super decent quality.I reached out via email form to Cold Steel a couple of weeks ago for a replacement but have not heard anything as of yet.I also bought a Recon 1 Drop point and that is STUNNING!

Amazing Knife, especially for the price point.
I’ll cut right to the chase (no pun intended). It’s a great knife. Perfect size and shape. Opens smoothly and is very sharp. However, like many people have mentioned, the clip is too stiff and is very difficult to remove from pocket. I have had some sweatpants that I’ve had for years rip a bit because of this. I’ve heard that some people have removed it and sanded down the area under the clip and that helped. I would recommend that if you can do that easily and are okay with the clip overall. However, let me give you a better and easier solution. To remedy the situation, I went ahead and ordered a replacement clip from Boker USA. I ordered a “ Böker Plus Strike Pocket Clip” in black for like $7 dollars and free shipping. So after replacing the clip, no only does it not have any issues with removing it, but now the clip is black, it’s smaller and less intrusive to hold, and it’s also an deep carry clip. 100% worth buying. Now for me, the knife is perfect.

Extremely well made knives!
Great knives, my new edc knives! I now have the Clip and Tanto SR1 lite knives. They are beautiful and built like a tank!

Monster knife that feels like a fixed blade and fills your pocket
The media could not be loaded. When I considered the concept of a "pocket knife," I wasn't expecting a knife that actually filled my pocket! This thing is H-U-G-E!!! It measures 5.5" long by 1.5" wide closed, opening to 9.5" and weighing in at a whopping 7 oz! Like all Cold Steel knives, it arrived razor sharp (see paper-cutting video). It's a massive knife all the way around, with the blade spine measuring 5MM in thickness.I don't typically recommend folding knives as survival knives, but this thing is meaty and beefy, and its 5mm, 90-degree spine worked perfectly, throwing plenty of sparks from my Ferro rod. At sub $40, this knife is well worth the money if you like a large-format folder that can act as a survival knife in a pinch. And if you're concerned about the knife's strength and structural integrity, check out Joe X's folding knife destruction test. This knife outlasted the other 30 or so he put through the torture testing. It withstood abuse that knives triple its price could not withstand!-----SPECS: 8Cr14MoV stainless steel, Griv-Ex handle, 4" Clip-point Blade, 6.9 oz. Made in Taiwan
