LIFE: By Silver

If you're a fan of Silver then you'll love this book...if you really, really like rough sketches. I personally love them since it shows the thought process of the artist and what they can do to make a full pose using only line. The book focuses on drawings from live models that are tweaked a bit to bit a more cartoony feel to them. Not as refined as some of his other work, so don't expect cleaned up drawings, but not so realistic like you'll find in other books that show drawings from live models. There's a good range of models as well, from the fit female type to my personal favorite the fat guy (rock it buddy).Also there's almost no text, again something I love. I buy art books to see drawings, not to read. If you're looking for an instructional book or more of a "how to" guide you'll be disappointed . This is a book strictly for artists that want to appreciated and analyze the work of another artist and see how they go about laying out poses and roughing out their ideas.Awesome book, great for reference, good buy for any artist.

This book has yet to arrive but I'm on pins and needles just imagining all of the awesome artwork from Mr. Silver!! I've started following him on YouTube and his designs for characters are amazing!!
