I made the mistake of buying what my son calls an “off-brand” salt gun for flies from our local farm store. It was half the price of this one, but the only way it kills flies is if you hit them with it like a fly swatter. Huge mistake. I ordered this one after that experience, and you definitely get what you pay for. This thing is worth every single penny!!! It kills every fly with one shot. It’s extremely powerful so don’t let your kids play with it. My teenagers learned that the hard way. Lol. Between my teenage boys and my husband, they have so much fun ridding our house of any insects. I couldn’t recommend this enough. Don’t make my same mistake and buy anything other than this name brand salt gun!!!

This thing is so much fun it's unreal. It's pretty stiff and hard to use out of the box, but breaks in pretty fast. The included targets make great practice for learning how to use the sights and point shoot accurately. It annihilates houseflies like they're snow against a hard wind, but horseflies are tougher hunting, requiring several shots to down. The price could be a little lower, but I can't argue that it's hard to have a better time for fifty bucks. The black and grey color makes it feel more like a hunting shotgun when I'm out on safari. Highly recommended!

This thing is actually pretty well built. It’s breakable plastic for sure, but it’s reinforced in areas you would expect and a few sparing metal pieces are included where required. I originally bought it hoping that I can wage war on this insane invasion of cicada broods taking over my state. The description does state that it is made for flys and to its credit it does take care of them pretty well as long as you are within 2-3ft away. I was hoping for more like 10ft since flys rarely sit still as you approach them. But still it is very fun and effective for taking care of flys (and maybe small spiders?. Haven’t tried yet). Anything larger that which has a hard carapace this salt gun has no chance of defeating. I looked up tear down videos in hopes of finding some way to increase the power and range (maybe by increasing spring force) which is why I know it is well built. But alas I don’t see any reasonable way to make it more effective for taking down cicadas. It can at least stun them at point blank range so you can finish them off from there but I was hoping I could shoot them out of the air like a clay pigeon and play out my helldivers 2 fantasy by spreading democracy to these bug invaders lol. Also larger grain salt does not help much with stopping power but I did have a little luck by adding an extended barrel on it so the salt could accelerate longer from the released air pressure of the shot.

Bug Assault really works, and it’s lethal! I took out one of those pesky little intruders with my first shot. Dead as a door nail and knocked off one of its wings to boot!The sights are accurate and work well within the specified range of Bug Assault but target acquisition and reacquisition would be faster with a reflex sight. All that is needed is a rail to mount up a green multi reticle Holosun , and a flip away 3X magnifier would be great too!A charging mechanism with the capacity for a 3 round burst would be a great upgrade to take on multiple assailants.Who would have thought we could have so much fun dispatching flies while getting in some range practice! 😃

This thing works, is powerful and makes me feel like Tackleberry from Police Academy. Works really well. Has a safety. You can get an optional laser (not needed). Flies beware. There’s a new sheriff in town.

This thing is a bug SLAYER. I have a problem with flies getting into my house and the first thing I do is whip out the slayer. As soon as they land I obliterate them with this thing, 9/10 it completely disables the fly on the first shot and then I do a double tap to ensure no survival. Highly recommend this as a fun and highly effective tool for dispatching insects.
