I bought this specifically for it' claimed support for "DIY" Mode. Unit works we eWeLink and I got the FW upgraded to 3.3.0. Then I put on the DIY jumper and set my AP SSID to "sonofDiy" and password "20170618sn" per the Tasmota docs, and nothing I did would get the Sonoff to connect to my AP. I tried first with my Samsung Galaxy S8 mobile hotspot (making sure to set 2.4GHz), as well as a 802.11bgn AP -- neither worked.Also, with eWeLink, the "LAN mode" doesn't work after 5 on/offs cycles (if you don't have internet connection), whereupon the app will say "Refreshing ..." and stops working. So this IoT switch is useless if you should suffer an ISP outage. Be warned: The fact that it works for 5 times before stopping (w/o internet) means that Sonoff is snitching your data! It's basically saying we don't you to stop talking with our servers in China, so we allow 'offline' operation only a few times before the Sonoff device requires "phoning home".

I installed this off my main breaker box to control some security lights in my yard. It works very well, and set up without issue. Installation was slightly hindered by the fact that it does not easily accept standard solid Romex- it needed a little pursuasion, but handles everything just fine.

The media could not be loaded.  Worked as expected. Ended up buying 100 more from another seller at $4.85 each.

Found a project on Thingiverse that called for this particular model of Sonoff. Printed 2 housings, added some wiring and now I have 2 fully Alexa enabled power strips to control all the lighting in my office.

I love the simplicity. It just works. Leveraging sonoff switches for sprinkler system and also for pool pump. ...in this application, i use the switch to trigger a relay. Probably not a good idea to run the full current through thr switch.The google integration is most important to me.

This was easy to wire up, mount, and connect to my 3D printer. I had a smart switch before, but I like having the switch up high and easy to access. The app is easy to connect to and has a simple interface. It seems to connect quickly every time.

Not the nicest solution, but cabt argue with the price and it does the job. The thibg I really dont like about this product is that the fixation of the wiring is very badly deaigned.

I bought this specifically for the DIY cloud-free operation. This is the latest "jumper-less" version running the latest firmware v3.6.0. I can get it to connect to the LAN, but it won't respond to any of the documented REST API calls (I'm using Postman to test it), it just times-out. Works fine when using their eWeLink app though, so it's not a network issue. Look elsewhere for a cloud-free DIY switch.

Using it as a keyless door opener with my simple intercom door lock, with ewelink app (sharing with my family also) and Google HomeWiring as follows :-Sonoff (in inching mode 0.5seconds) > 12v adapter > 12v relay (motorcycle horn relay used here only 50 buck's)> intercom door lock trigger wireMuch simpler wiring can be done with only 5v adapter and sonoff in dry relay mod.
