GSD *loves* this mat, previous one lasted one year before a thin spot caused it to leak so I bought another. In defense of the mat, Max is on and off this thing a hundred times a day, it is his favorite spot to lay and nap. It works way better than any other mat I have tried and is much more durable. If you have a GSD, you know how double coat dogs prefer cool places, this thing will wick the heat off them for several hours.... once the thermal exchange gets to a point Max will get off and get into other activities, etc... Max cools off pretty quick (an hour?) and he is right back on it! He has never chewed it so I cannot speak on that aspect. Max is a large 100lb GSD, enjoy the picture of him with his stolen prize of toilet paper. Durability 8/10 - Dog comfort 10/10 - Price 8/10 - Satisfaction for money spent 10/10

I live in the Caribbean so it’s hot all the time. I have a black German Shepherd who struggles because it’s so hot. He absolutely loves this bed. He’s a digger and so far, the bed is not showing any signs of this.It’s been good to cool him down but it’s also been good for his callused elbows.My other two try to sneak on when he gets up but he eventually takes over.

Update: Back down to 4 stars. Well the dog finally figured out how to flip over this side with the plug and pull the plug, flooding the floor around it. Glad I was there when he did it as it wouldve been a ruined floor. I guess it lasted 6 months. WHY DID YOU NOT MAKE THE PLUG A SCREW ON VS A POP OFF!!?? simple fix but would make a huge difference. The material is pretty darn sturdy - not chew proof - but pretty much claw proof. Yet the drain plug just pops off in a dog mouth. Used indoors in AZ since outside here is 85-115 and usually on the higher side for the months I wanted to use this thing so outside use is pointless. Make another one with a screw on cap and Id buy it again. 💁Update: Has worked well for several months now. The water I found under the mat was from the dog spilling water from the bowl in the tank. I removed the bowl allowing mo water in the cage with this mat inside and problem solved: dry. Upgrading to 5 starsPros: Seems to work. Rottweiler actually uses it. comfy. has a memory foam interior that absorbs the water and on top if that you can add air (but I think that is not the best - ever had a dog walk on a balloon? Just doesn't work). It is sturdy enough that nails are not gonna pop it. Had the dogs even sucking on it a couple times. the material is pretty durable and tough.Cons: I placed this in a kennel cage. The dog spills a little water from a dish and it runs under the bed. Well, the bed has water in it and so it is fairly heavy (not fully inflated or anything). So to clean under it I have to lift up and fold over a part of the bed, them switch to another part. hard to do. It always has water under it and Im worried it is gonna get mold under there and we live in Arizona! might even be condensation. DO NOT PLACE ANYWHERE THAT WOULD BE RUINED BY WATER.

I have an Alaskan Malamute who gets very hot - he pants when he lays down for the night. I have had him lay on this bed at the beginning of the night. He stays on this bed for hours! My dog rarely will sleep on a dog bed - probably because it gets too hot for him. I put this bed on top of a regular dog bed to give him additional cushion underneath the cool bed. Again, he sleeps on the cool bed (on top of a regular dog bed) for hours.Thank you! I finally have a solution for my dog at night for his sleeping.

One of our dogs has hip dysplasia and valley fever. We bought one of these beds because she was laying on the hard tile floor instead of her foam bed to enjoy cool. We feared she wouldn't try it because the surface is noisier and plastic instead of fleece. NOPE, she took right to it and almost never uses other beds now. I had to write this because, since we got it about 1 week ago, we've been moving the bed between the bedroom and family room morning and night, but this morning we forgot it. I heard her moaning and saw her leave the family room and head to the bedroom. Then I heard her bark. I went in and she was sitting on the bed making it very clear what she was telling me. I brought the bed out and she gave me a kiss and laid down on the bed. Blown away. She's also more agile and active since we got it - reduced inflammation and pain? I ordered a second bed so we don't need to move it. And, I chose a bigger one so our other dog, who also has valley fever that has deteriorated 2 vertebra might enjoy it too. So worth the money!!!

Our dog, Stan, never did well in the heat, and recently he was diagnosed with Cushing's disease which appeared to make this problem worse. He was very restless at night, moving from spot to spot, bed to floor. We have air conditioning and fans but we were up all night. We purchased the cooling pad, filled it with water and placed it on a large towel to facilitate moving it as many said it was heavy when filled and may compromise the seals. We move it on the towel easily. The first few nights we moved him from the floor onto the pad. We noticed he stayed on the pad and slept through the night. WE ALL SLEPT! Now after 2 months he gets on his cooling pad and sleeps peacefully. I recently wiped it down with a wet cloth. We are 100% pleased with the pad. Stan is a 16 lb cocker-poodle mix. We purchased the medium pad.

Our dogs always adored the K&H cooling beds. The original version, however, took a downturn because it started leaking at the seam faster and faster. They never leaked anywhere else but at the seams.However, they were comfortable and cooled beautifully.When I saw a new version of the product, I was excited that they might have solved the leaking issue--they might have, the bed hasn't leaked yet.I also liked that it seemed thicker and presumably more comfortable.However, the surface is very slippery and my senior dog has a terrible time trying to get herself up on it. I had to put a sheet over to give her some traction.Further, while it looks nice and thick, after the dog lays on it or a while, it gets packed down and it looses its thickness and cooling.I will continue buying these beds because my dog loves them. However, I'd love to see a better surface with some traction and thickness that remains.

My dogs love this bed and I am impressed by the quality. Great to see another manufacturer taking on the mantle of the US manufacturer whose beds became discontinued. The only difference is that this bed is so much heavier to move about, containing, as it does, around 2 gallons of water. I have since removed some of the water as it became too rounded for my older dog to lie comfortably on. But a great buy!

This bed is actually brilliant , and i have bought about a thousand beds for this dog! Its the only one he will go near. Always cold. Only downside is its very heavy when full so a bit of a faff to move it around should you need to.

Entra mucha cantidad de agua, yo se la pongo fría y añado hielo picado para que le aguante más fresca. En casas muy calurosas hay que cambiar el agua a diario, es un poco incómodo por lo que pesa, pero en general es un buen producto

Die Matte kam zügig und gut verpackt bei mir an. Ich habe sie nach der Online Beschreibung vorbereitet und befüllt. Und... Schon lag der Husky da drauf.Er ist mittlerweile fast 15 Jahre, und kommt im Sommer leider nicht mehr in den kühlen Keller, darum die Entscheidung eine wirklich gute Kühlmatte für ihn zu besorgen, die ihm womöglich auch seine Arthrose etwas erleichtert.Und wenn ich jetzt aus dem Fenster gucke und sehe, dass er das Cool bed gut annimmt, war der Kauf in meinen Augen eine richtige Entscheidung.
