The 5.0MP MU503-GS uses a global-shutter CMOS sensor, offering hybrid of CCD and CMOS designs. The global shutter removes the focal-plane distortion seen in rolling-shutter sensors, resulting in improved capture of motion. It has a high light-gathering efficiency, providing viable images with shorter exposure times in low-light applications. This camera would be best-suited for low-light applications, including fluorescence and dark-field.The standard C-mount coupling allows the use of various lenes outside of microscopy-use. The included reduction lens allows connection to a microscope's photo-port or ocular-tube, ranging from 23mm to 30.5mm.
