Replace the Floppy with a new age!
I don't know why, but when I viewed it here on Amazon, I was expecting an aluminum base with two USB 3.0 ports to act as an expansion for my computer since none of my computer cases include any USB 3.0 ports. Yay! More USB ports!Regardless, the product arrived directly from JacobsParts Inc. (Packaging was labelled as such) which I was pleased to see. Unfortunately, it wasn't packaged super well, which worried me a little bit. No damage, thankfully, as it was a simple bubble-wrapped paper container that it had arrived in; not much padding in the event of a shipping mishap. The product arrived as a plastic unit, with a 2.5" SSD/HDD mount as an option, though I haven't tested how well it works. Everything else is absolutely fine.I recommend this product to anyone who needs an expansion for their computer or if they want an excuse to remove that old Floppy drive from their hardware. It even comes with its own self-tapping screws, which was a nice addition, honestly.

Excellent seller
Jacob's Parts is an excellent seller because they respond quickly to any question or issue that you may have. They are customer focused. Not A.I. focused. Not B.S. focused. Rather focused on selling good stuff and customer satisfaction.

USB3 sockets added to floppy drive bay
After I replaced the motherboard on my old HP Pavilion tower, I got a USB3 header on the board for the front panel. This product has appropriately threaded retaining bolt holes, but it needed a tray added in order to mount in the floppy drive bay. This was due to the case's stop for the retaining bolts only existing on the top side of the bay. So I glued together a tray out of left over lauan - it took some effort. The product's retaining bolt holes were placed so that the face did not end flush with the front, but slightly sunken. If your bay doesn't have grooves on both sides for the retaining bolts, you also might have to figure out something to make the product fit.

Works in a a HP DC7900 with a spacer.
This is the second JacobsParts USB 3.0 Front Panel Expansion Bay I have bought. In this case it works in a a HP DC7900. Since drives slide into the HP instead of screwing in I added a spacer between the the screws on the rails to stabilize it. Note that since the HP only has Gen 1 PCIe the USB 3.0 PCIe card I plugged this into was faster than the on board USB ports but slower than SuperSpeed USB so not full USB 3 speeds.

Works great on my Windows 10 PC, and gave me back the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports that upgrading from Windows 7 took away!
My existing USB 3.0 ports failed to obtain SuperSpeed once I upgraded my old PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I tried every trick in the book (including uninstalling/reinstalling drivers) but could not get the ones that came with my computer to work. I easily installed this to the USB 3.0 spot on the motherboard, and just like I had hoped POOF I now have functioning USB 3.0 ports again! For the price, this is absolutely a great product that took me less than 15 minutes to install (including removing the existing panel that was in that bay) and I have zero experience assembling my own computers etc. (other than occasionally changing out parts like this). Yes, the face of it is plastic, but it seems to be reasonably well-made (again especially considering it's less than $10 at the time of this post). I will update the post down the road if I run into any durability issues, but as of now, I'm very happy with it!

High quality for the money
I expected the frame these ports are mounted in to be plastic, maybe aluminum. I did not expect it to be steel that that appears to be powder coated. As for the electronics, everything is sealed in molded plastic, so there are no wires that could get snagged and pull a plug off of pins.My one complaint is that there were only 4 tiny screws included for mounting which leaves little room for error when installing. That being said, this isn't a big enough issue for me to take a star off the review.
