Excellent Universal Item
I needed a phone holder as my car does not have anyplace to place my phone at all. I actually only have 1 drink holder and so I decided to get one of these items to hold my phone. After seeing the Weathertech commercials all the time on the TV that is the one I initially was going to buy. That is until I saw how much it cost, $50! I then started looking for alternatives and spotted this one that is much less expensive than Weathertechs. Also this one does not have multiple cups in order to fit universally but has a base that expands to fit all cup holders. That way you do not lose the left over items in case you need for your next new car. Also this one came with a long flexible extension arm already attached and included. The Weathertech version that was extra. After it is mounted you just place your phone in and squeeze the sides to grab phone. To release there is a button on back that causes sides to release. I had no problem with my phone case. My only recommendation would be to add a couple of USB jacks for charging phone and my battery packs that are with me throughout the day. Now my phone is right next to me and I can see at all times and item holds sturdy in case I need to tap phone for something. I liked this so much I bought one for my wife and my daughter also purchased one. Very affordable, Very easy to Use, Very Durable.

Worked out perfect for my kids car
She has an 04 VW Passat.. the dash is funny that any window mount sits too close and any dash mount sits too far away. This was the first one we tried for the cup holder mount. Mount feels solid and the base secured itself nicely in the cup holder. Its a cheap holder.. but it met expectations. The bonus that made this thing a true hit that just by dumb luck, the lower part of the mount works perfectly to hold the phone if you have a pop socket on your case. The two little feet on the bottom grab the popsocket perfectly. There is just enough left in the holder up top that the side grips still secure the phone as well. It hangs off the bottom of the holder a bit, but works out very nicely! She can keep her case and popsocket on the phone. Of course, everyone's setup is a little different. May not work for you, but this worked out great for us. Her phone is an iPhone XR with one of those TPU bumper, hard plastic backed cases off Amazon here. Just a regular popsocket.

Adjusts easily to your phone
I drive a Toyota FJ Cruiser. The cup holders are very wide (diameter); and the cup holders have a rubber-like insert. This phone holder would not open wide enough to fit in the cup holder unless it has the rubber insert installed. I had to open the phone holder "wings" all the way to fit into it; and the rubber insert squished up a bit so that the phone holder doesn't always stay upright. Other than that, it works great! I set the phone holder so that I just pop in my cell phone without having to fiddle with the ratchetting holder each time I use it. The cell phone stays put and doesn't fall out at all. And the cell phone is high enough so that I can see the screen very easily.

Design flaw
Works ok but had to ding it 2 stars for poor design. If they had added just 1/4 " or more to the sides and bottom that hold the phone it would have held any phone with a thick case. Would have cost virtually nothing in added cost. A little wobbly but does alright. Had to replace case with thin case in order to use. So if you have even a medium thick case, forget it. Too bad because the fix would be so easy to just design it right in the first place. Would not buy again.

Fantastic product
I bought the “tall” version and I’m glad I did. I needed the flexible gooseneck to allow the phone to be out of the way of the shifter for a six speed manual. It is absolutely perfect. I also have an iPhone 8 Plus and this holds it with room to spare should I ever need it. Simple button push on the top back of the holder and it releases the phone, which is held really snugly in the adjustable arms. You can adjust the bumpers on the outside once you place it in your cup holder to make it even more secure. Fantastic purchase.

Broke Within 3 Months!
It was okay for the almost 3 months until it broke (and the return window was void). The back is not made for a fingerprint like a Pixel has, so that is a bit annoying. But the worst part os that it stopped locking in correctly & has to be manually jammed together to hold phone in. Obviously that is not good. It was used sparingly, so there was zero wear & tear that caused this.I don't recommend unless you have a 6 month window to ensure it works.

It actually works!
It works and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I love it! I last one I got was one you clip to the top of the ledge of your instrument cluster. While that seemed to be a good idea, the first time I used it on a sunny day, it got my phone too hot. This one sits down in a cup holder. While I do have a manual transmission, I have to be careful shifting into fifth gear, but that's fine. I love, and I've been using it for a about 2 weeks now. Great life changer for me!

Got very loosey goosey after five months of use
**UPDATE**after 5 months of frequent use the swivel that attaches the cell phone holder to the arm is getting extremely loose, to the point where when I hit small disturbances in the road my cell phone wiggles around quite a bit. I am constantly having to adjust it to keep it perfectly upright. I am changing my rating from 5 stars to 2. I see that WeatherTech now has an offering very similar to this though it is $40. While that is way more than I am willing to pay for a cellphone holder, I am very curious if it will last longer than this one.I bought this specifically because my power supply is in my center console so I didnt want excessive loose cord hanging out of I had a dash, windshield, or vent mount. Holds my LG V35 Thinq very well and keeps it in easy view. Also secures to the cup holder very well. Minor vibrations when going down the road but that is to be expected.
