Power PROPower Pro SSV2 30 Lb 150 Yd Blue

Now that I am using the latest Penn and Okuma rods I found the guides did not allow the mono to braid knots to pass freely. So I am using the Power Pro Super slick v2 as a leader with figure 8 knots and loop to loop connections. Works well.

I'm all about high end HMWPE lines, but for me a very important factor besides casting distance (via thinness) is quietness through the guides. This line doesn't disappoint. If I had less money I'd spring for Berkley X9, and more money there are some YGK products that are quite nice. But this is the perfect medium, especially if you can score it for about ~$30/300m.The color fades after just a few uses, which doesn't bother me at all but just FYI because some people care about that. It's also a lot stiffer feeling when you first get it out of the box, but it softens up a lot with use, which I like. I use this line for surfcasting for stripers on the east coast, though I also fish for halibut and surfperch on the west coast and this line does a bang-up job there too. Double palomar and uni knots work great and I usually just use those. It's very slick so I've had some issue with using alberto/improved albright knot, just have to tie carefully. For FG knots I usually tie them at home and add a dab of glue to the half hitches to keep them from coming open when I cast repeatedly through guides.

There isn’t anything I don’t like about this product except for the price, and I can’t really complain too much given the quality.This line is exceptionally durable, high quality line. One thing that I love is that it’s round. Most braids are not round. This line also has a light coating on it that allows it to glide beautifully when casting. I casted further this season and more effortlessly than ever before.This line did not fail me once through the entire Pompano surf fishing season. I loved it so much that I bought a few spools for my buddy who typically uses the cheapest line he can get.I highly recommend this line and will but it again!

I've always been a power pro braid user from the start, I had seen reviews on internet about how smooth and quiet in went through the guides. I fished the line hard for a week in Florida on pompano mainly but caught many other species and had no issue landing any of the fish. The reviews were spot on, I gained about 20-30 yards on my casts over straight Power Pro and silky smooth coming through the guides.Power Pro isn't inexpensive but you get a quality product for what you pay and if that means the difference between landing that possible trophy fish or losing it to a break in your line, I'll pay a little more.

So far so good. It’s definitely thinner than the previous product they offered. Seems slicker as well. It is a little easier to tie knots with too. It’s not cheap though but then what decent fishing gear is? The blue color is more visible than my previous dark green for what that’s worth. But you still need a fluorocarbon leader to fool the fish no matter what color you choose.

I didn't find this one bit more or less special than their standard brand. It's all high quality pro gear.
