UPDATE Dec 2020: We've had these knives 'bout 1-1/2 yrs now and always grab one instead of the many plastic ones we own. Great little retracting knives. My earlier review below was for a different offering but I see the confusion over the number in the order remains. Forget the picture, look at the words. 2 or 4, that's all.We use these 9mm knives all around the house. Some in the kitchen, the garage, our cars, and other rooms. The "feel" of these is accurate and easy to control. I have lots of the cheapo plastic-only knives and they tend to wobble a bit on the blade and can be difficult to retract. These knives have a metal slider which holds a single blade and they are great so far. I prefer using one to grabbing a cheapo.I do think it should be clarified that the buyer is purchasing TWO KNIVES and two knives only. The picture shown is 2 sets of 4 knives and I got the impression I was getting eight knives (two sets of 4 each). My cheapo's came to $0.80 each including two replacement blades so it was plausible to pay the asking price for these which just added a little padding, I thought. But these are better made and well worth the price for two knives only. You don't get to pick the colors either. And there are no replacement blades included so you'll have to order them separately. So far my wife and I go for one of these and ignore the cheapo's in our kitchen. These well-made knives are great for handling the Amazon boxes for recycle. Concerned with identity information, we remove the tracking labels and these knives facilitate wrestling the labels from the boxes. Recycling these Amazon boxes takes more time than ordering products!Edit: I just noticed the pricing on 4 knives is a dollar more than 2 knives! $8/2=$4.00ea, but $9/4=$2.25ea. I would have ordered 4 if I had noticed this. The picture is misleading. $2.50 each is a steal!

I previously used the all plastic 9mm box cutters but they just didn’t hold up in the long run. They would easily break both at the front and the rear and quickly became useless. I had recently upgraded to the metal reinforced 18mm box cutters (the blades slide in a metal channel instead of all plastic) which also easily broke and I was very impressed with the newer metal reinforced models. I had, therefore, decided to also upgrade the 9mm cutters to the similar metal reinforced type. Boy, what a difference! I’m extremely pleased with this model! These are far superior to the cheaper original all plastic ones in that they feel better in your hand and are much more ergonomic.

Color protection.

These cutters are great. Small enough to do big jobs and still small enough for my small hands. I had one similar I used at work and everywhere else for over 20 years. Being a woman with small hands, I highly recommend them to anyone that needs a smaller one with good grips on the sides.

These things are great the whole concept behind these cutters is way cool,and with the way they are designed with the metal inside to make it even more sturdy is awesome, love the rubber grip, don't usually see that!,plus it still keeps the smaller size, the price was great, NO BRAINER!!

It’s really helpful when opening boxes.

It's a great tool for work, especially if your job is opening boxes all day. Totally recommend!!!
