Piero Savelli, già da cinque anni separato dalla moglie Roberta, lasciata la clinica, si reca al porto di Civitavecchia per ricevere in consegna dalla ex moglie i figlioletti Claudio e Fiorella i quali, spettando a lui per quindici giorni all'anno, lo accompagneranno nella piccolacrociera con la nuovissima "BIBA", il modesto cabinato che il dentista si è potuto permettere e che non ha finito di agare, Roberta, ospite del solenne panfilo "KABIR" - ove, tra l'altro, si trova il suo ricco spasimante Attilio, - alle peripezie iniziali dell'impacciato Piero e, preoccupata per i bambini, si fa assumere come mozzo e cuoco. La "Biba" raggiunge un porto della Toscana con l'equipaggio malridotto a causa di una tempesta, Piero e Roberta hanno avuto numerose occasioni per litigare e ora, quando Piero intende raggiungere la Sardegna, lei lo dovrebbe abbandonare. Ma, con la diplomatica indigestione di Claudio, viene ta una tregua e la famiglia raggiunge Porto Cervo ove non trova un pontile cui attraccare. Della cosa ne approfitta il brigante Marò con un compagno, entrambi fuggiti dall'Asinara. Presi in ostaggio e costretti a puntare sulla Corsica, i Savelli reagiscono in maniera indipendente: Piero e Roberta, approfittando del male di denti di uno degli evasi, li narcotizzano e li abbandonano sui loro mezzi di salvataggio, Claudio e Fiorella, decisi ad aiutare i genitori, affondano la "Biba" rimasta priva di mezzi di fortuna. Salvati dall'elicottero di Attilio, Piero e Roberta finiscono per confessarsi reciprocamente di non avere mai cessato d'amarsi.
