Practical, durable, and perfect for classic shaving.
This Viking Revolution shaving bowl pleasantly surprised me. It's made of high-quality stainless steel, with a double layer that makes it durable yet lightweight. You don't have to worry about it falling or breaking like you would with ceramic or glass bowls, which is ideal if you use it daily or travel. The size is just right: roomy enough to comfortably carry the brush and generate a good lather, without taking up too much space in the bathroom. Plus, it's easy to clean and doesn't retain odors or soap residue. It works well with both creams and solid soaps, and the minimalist design fits nicely with any classic shaving kit.In short, a simple yet highly functional product. Good value for money, and it delivers exactly what it promises.

Great Shave Bowl
I have been wet shaving my neck for many years. I use a double edged safety razor and typically some form of soap/shaving cream for lathering. I received the Viking Revolution Stainless Steel shaving bowl and badger brush to test out about a month and a half ago. I purchased their shaving cream on my own to test the entire package.Materials are A+ here. The bowl is exactly as described and has a nice etched logo on the side. It is a good size for travel and fits well in the hand. This may seem quite obvious, but the shape of the bowl is great for lathering as well. Being that it is a steel bowl, it conducts heat very well, so it will keep your lather nice and warm for you.I've used this bowl quite a few times and never had any issues out of it. The only negative I might see someone experiencing would be the bowl slipping out of your hand if it is wet (which tends to happen when wet shaving). I've not personally experienced that, but just a fair warning. For the price, this is a phenomenal option for a shaving bowl. Pair it up with their badger brush and sandalwood shaving cream and you have a winning combo.

Great bowl for those new to wet shaving
A buddy of mine convinced me to give wet shaving a try over the spray foam & plastic razors I've used for decades.I needed a bowl, or mug, for whipping up lather. This Viking bowl seemed to be a good deal for someone buying all the gear at once. After a month of use I have a good sense for what I'm doing now I think, so I think I can give my opinion on the bowl.Pros:Stainless steel bowl that will not rust.I doubt this bowl will harbor bacteria between shaves.Looks great on my vanity with Viking's brush/razor stand. The small diameter makes it easy to hold while whipping up soap into a good lather.Cons:The mirror smooth exterior can become very slippery while whipping lather. The bowl's sides are basically vertical, so the bowl is very narrow. This makes it easy for the soap to go over the side while making your lather, and that's when it gets slippery. This is where a mug's handle makes a big difference over a bowl.Overall though I quite like my first shave bowl. The small size is great on my small bath vanity, and I can get a good lather going in the bowl. Only thing I would change is maybe adding some grippable texture on the outside.

Viking Revolution Shaving Soap Bowl
Over the last few years, I switched over from shaving with a cartridge razor to a DE razor. I decided to start out cheap, and got a badger hair brush and used a bar of regular bath soap in an old mug. I have enjoyed it, but my lather was kinda pathetic. To step up my lather game, I picked up this bowl and a proper bar of shaving soap. Having a separate bowl for building lather has worked well for me. Now I get actual lather, as opposed to just a thin film of soap. I can even get a decent lather with the bath soap.Aside from functioning well as a bowl, this product feels solid and has a nice look to it. It's also very easy to clean (I just rinse it out), and doesn't seem like it will rust if taken care of. I was also shopping around for kits with a bowl and a little rack to store your razor and brush. That might help to save some counter space, but wasn't sure if the racks would fit my particular razor and brush.

Smaller than I though, but solid
The images do not really show how small this item is, which ironically makes it perfect for taking it on vacation with you, for travel shaving. That said, it is incredibly solid and works fantastically. Get this, and lather without fear!

Great Bowl, but I'd Like a Little More Heft
Pluses: Lather whips up well, and stays warm enough (double wall construction). Stainless steel is really easy to clean. Looks good sitting beside the sink with the other shave equipment. Won't break under normal drops and falls (I am pretty clumsy so it has been well tested... already). Price/quality ratio absolutely cannot be beat by anything else on Amazon.Service: Order came well in advance of stated delivery date. Well protected and undamaged. Viking Revolution took the time to inquire about my satisfaction. Overall a great experience.Minus: just a quibble, the bowl is too light for my heavyweight badger brush (it tips over even when full of lather or worse with my non-lathering shave cream foam). The problem could well be my brush is abnormally heavy at the base (opposite the bristles). I would not anticipate any issues with a normal weight brush. Bowl is on the small side.

Well Made but Too Small
Well made item but most all shaving soaps are too big for it. I had to force the shave soap down into it and the later continually comes up over the edge so super messy. Just like everything else on Amazon, much smaller than what you would think when ordering.
