Finally my family is bite free when outside at home
This works like a dream. We live in the woods and constantly have mosquitos, even on warmer days in the winter. We do keep ours inside until we are ready to use it, but that is only because we don't have a permanent place to hang it yet. When we use it, we turn it on just a little before we plan on being outside, and it starts working right away. We sometimes sit it on a table away from where we are, and when we get it to take it in, there is always a huge pile of dead bugs, mostly mosquitos. It is supper gross but also quite impressive. I have wanted a bug zapper for years because an Uncle of mine had one and it seemed to work, but I would hear people say things about the weird old people with bug zappers. I didn't want that being said about me. Now at 48, I don't care what people think about it. My family isn't getting chewed up by mosquitos and I wish I would have purchased one of these years ago. This works so well that I have suggested it to a hand full of people I know who also have a mad mosquito problem.

Works almost too well
This thing is a beast. Mosquitos have always been a problem at our house. After turning it on for the first time, I thought it wasn't working. After 5 or 10 minutes, the onslaught began. For the next several hours it was killing dozens of mosquitos every minute. I was very happy that first day. The second day, it wasn't doing so well, so I went out and checked on it. Here is my only complaint. This zapper had killed so many bugs the night before that the grids were coated thickly with bug carcasses. So much so that no more bugs could be killed until it was cleaned. The company advertises that the dead bugs will fall through the bottom, but most get stuck to the electrified grid and clog it up. I have to clean the grid with a skinny toothbrush almost daily, not a chore I enjoy. In summary, it works great and kills tons of mosquitos, but be prepared to clean the grid of dead bugs often.

Effective! Tons of activity in just one night
The media could not be loaded. WOW!! I ran across this product on a blog which compared outside bug zappers and their effectiveness - this one was ranked number 1. We live close to a lot of pine trees and have a lot of mosquitoes in our back yard and finding something effective has been hard. We received our Flowtron unit on 4/30 and left it running over night. The picture is how much activity it had after just one night. The zapping sound is noticeable but it is not too loud. Easily drowned out by a TV or a fan at night. We’ve only had the unit for a day but so far we are satisfied. Interested to see the difference after a few nights of use. I will say to follow the instructions and place the unit a good distance from the porch if you plan to sit out there while it’s running. We do not have a large backyard so we hung it near the porch. Once the sun went down there was a swarm of bugs around the unit.

Works Great
You'll definitely still have to clean it, but it is super effective. Cleaning is easy. Just use compressed air or a leaf blower. If you have a ton of bugs around like we do, it gets clogged up with them and seems a little less effective. But from the photo, you can see it is definitely super effective.

Bought Another
I had purchased both the 1 & 2 acre zappers 1 1/2 years ago. The 1st 1 acre is still going strong but the 2 acre stopped working recently. (tried replacing bulbs but still didn't work). So, ordered a 2nd 1 acre zapper. I'm happy with the 1 acres.

10's of thousands of bugs were harmed in the making of this review.
I've owned this product for over a year now (452 days according to Alexa). I live in coastal Georgia in the country, so think 'lots of bugs'. I bought this little killer because it's fairly dark where i live and a tremendous number of bugs are drawn to any light source, even shaded windows of rooms with a light on, so that at night every insect imaginable was crawling all over the house. My property is about 0.8 acres with the house about centered, so a large front and back yard. Since I like to spend evenings on my back patio I placed the unit near the back fence, probably 60 to 80 feet from the rear of the house. The immediate result was a significant reduction in six legged varmints attracted to the back lit windows. The first several weeks were a continuous chorus of flying fiends frying. I noticed a reduction of pests within a week of installation. I'm pretty sure even my neighbors, who tend to keep their outside lights off at night, probably noticed a difference, too. I started out with it on a timer set to approximately dusk to dawn, but the timer failed after about a month or so. Since then I have just left it on 24/7 (it's only 40 Watts). I like to write reviews after I've owned a product a while to see if and when it fails. I'm writing this because the bulb just burned out. If Alexa got the number of days correct (she seemed pretty sure of herself), then the bulb lasted over 10,000 hours. This is a year in a climate that destroys most outdoor items pretty quickly. Extreme UV from sunlight, heavy dew almost every day, severe outdoor mold, cold (it gets cold here, it just doesn't last long), lots of rain, and one hurricane, and the only problem is a burned out bulb after 10,000 hours of continuous operation. Yeah, I think 5 stars are earned.Note: 10's of thousands of bugs were harmed in the making of this review.Edit: I did the math and decided to add a new timer. This one got good reviews: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00002NB2X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1and the math says, at 12 cents/KWH (the national average), that it will pay for itself in 3 months using the 40W model. If it also extends the bulb life then the savings are even greater.
