MTD Replacement Part Assembly with FLX SHF Boom

Update: So, here we are, just about a year later, and the shaft is already broken. All told, it had seen about 10 hours of use at the time of failure.I determined that the culprit was a seized ball bearing package inside of the plastic cylinder that holds the shaft that the trimmer head attaches to. The cylinder contains two ball bearing packages and the lower one (closest to the trimmer head) had seized completely, causing enough heat and friction that the bearing package melted right through the lower end of the plastic cylinder. At the same time, a snap ring that keeps the upper end of the drive shaft receiver above the plastic cylinder melted through the top of the cylinder, resulting in a mess of chunky, melted plastic mixed with black grease. Plastic was a very poor choice for this part. Friction, heat and plastic do not mix. My previous trimmer didn't even have ball bearings - just a brass sleeve inside of a steel cylinder.No part should fail 10 hours in, but that it is precisely what my $48 got me. And now, with inflation, they are selling the same part for $65. And of course, the plastic part with the bearings does not appear to be available separately, so buying just that part is not an option.Original review, now to be ignored:I bought this to replace the broken lower shaft on my Cub Cadet CC4125. It was precisely what was needed and works exactly like the original.

This lower shaft for my 4 cycle weed whacker fit perfect. The lower bearing in myother shaft let go and decided to try and fix the weed whacker since it was expensivebecause it was a 4 stroke. So found this part online and bought it and put it on andthe whacker is now working great again and did not end up in the junk pile. Goodservice from the seller.

"Nut" on lower end was bigger than my previous shaft so my trimmer head would not go into it. Had to put a washer on top of it in order for it to tighten to shaft.
