Great Unit, Works Efficiently
This portable air conditioner has exceeded my expectations. Initially I purchased it for the cooling function as my house gets uncomfortably hot during the spring and summer months, but the heating and dehumidifing functions are equally efficient. The portable unit has four wheels and inbuilt handles, so it's easy to move it from room to room. The air conditioner is simple to operate. For the cooling function, simply switch on, select the desired temperature and then the fan speed. There are also options to osilate the air flow through directional fins. For the heating function you will need to attach the flexible hose and similarly for the dehumidifier you will need to attach the flexible pipe. There are other options available such as timer, sleep mode and child lock, all of which are easily accessible from the touch sensitive LED panel. It even comes with a remote control. The unit is reasonably quiet on the low fan speed setting and it gets slightly noisier on the higher speeds. Personally, on a hot day, I like to leave it on the low speed setting and let it quietly cool the room in the background.I'm delighted with my purchase. This air conditioner looks stylish and works incredibly efficiently. I'm amazed by how quickly it can either cool or warm a room. I'm completely satisfied and I would have no hesitation in recommending this air conditioner. It's a great product.

This unit displaces a huge amount of air.....
.....whether that is for heating, cooling or condensing. It's gone up a little bit in price since I bought it but what a beast!! I went to Costco to get a dehumidifier but they only had one that was 9000Btu and it was a more powerful one that I was looking for to replace the one that I go from B&Q years ago and that was only 300w when condensing or 850w when heating.I primarily only want this as a dehumidifier but when you have the option at the outset to by a unit that does everything, why buy separate ones further down the road.My house has what is call a 'Warm roof' construction, which basically means it has a big plastic bag over it. This means that unlike normal houses where the humidity escapes though the loft, mine doesn't. And that's where this comes in. Been using it for about two weeks now. Far too powerful (which means you get noise) to run in the bedroom through the night so we have a smaller one for that, but in more open areas of the house this is ideal. It doesn't have it's own removable tank as such but it does have the outlets and supplied tubing to put the condensate into a container of your choosing to direct into a drain. For dehumidifying, this is the most powerful unit I've had but it's also great as a heater, again, powerful and quick to get the area up to temperature. Set the temp on the touch control panel and let it do it's wonders. It shows the temp you have set it to and then reverts back to the showing the ambient temperature of the room now. Finally, the bit that I don't intend to use it for (for now anyway). But in all honesty, knowing what I do about Air Conditioners from working with them at B&Q, this will do the job very, very well. The only thing you need to know about air conditioners is that to have cold air coming out of the front, you are going to have roughly the same volume of very hot air coming out of the back. Therefore, this needs to be vented outside or one cancels out the other. I'm doing a video to show how the supplied venting kit works. It is perfect for a sash window and can be made to work with a normal, open out type also. So, in summary, is this a recommendation. Yes.Don't expect it to be quiets as when you are moving volume of air like this does then it will not be quiet. Also when you are asking it to either warm or cool as much air as this can do then again it won't be quite. Lots of options for how you wan the air to come out and also in which direction (oscillating blade give one, two or four way directional air). And finally, four filters that are easy to come out and clean along with a remote so that you can control it from a distance. Perfect

Neat, cold and effective but...
....much noisier than expected, otherwise would have been 5 stars.Used for cooling a south-facing bedroom and very efficient at it, especially pleased that the machine has ability to automatically cycle the airflow both up and down as well as side to side. When running on fan noise is not an issue (more of a white noise) however when the compressor fires up for cooling it does so with quite a thump and is pretty noisy. I grew up with the old style through wall/window aircons and this is no quieter despite 40 years of technological improvement since that time. I would not describe the machine as quiet at all - that said, you can get used to it - eventually.

Vibration
I bought this primarily as an air conditioner in the bedroom. It emits a low frequency vibration when being used as an air conditioner on full power. I am using the unit upstairs in the bay window of a 1930s semi detached house so that it can vent out of the window. The room has carpeted floors and underneath these are floorboards and wooden joists. At first I tried it just on the carpet but got a low frequency resonance in the bedroom and in the lounge directly below. I then tried putting a piece of chipboard on the carpet, on top of which i placed a rubber anti-vibration mat, on top of which I placed anti-vibration cups, which the castors of the a/c unit sit in. The vibrations are a bit better but I wouldn't want to sit in the downstairs lounge with it running. Maybe I'm unlucky to own a property with the same resonant frequency as the air-con compressor!!!I intend to keep the unit as I live alone so the vibration downstairs doesn't matter that much. Also in the bedroom the worst of the resonance is by the door on the opposite side of the room from the unit. When I lie on the bed to sleep the vibration is much less noticeable. Also of course we don't have that many hot summers days in Southern England (yet!).The unit was well packaged and appears to be of high quality and solidly built. Without the vibration I would have given it 5 stars. I suspect that it would be much better in a property with concrete floors. The vent pipe is equipped with a window fitting which would be ideal for sash or sliding windows.
