Good value for money but a bit on the heavy side. Still does a great job though.

Effective up to its cutting thickness - which isn't much more than 10mm

I have really high hedges and saw this I understand the consept how this is really heavy as the weight is all at one end really hard to cut the high hedges, extend the pole makes it even worse as it the becomes unbalanced

Answer: me or the machine? fine with harness which is ok as long as you fit it firm onto the harness box.The clip on strap for low use fine but needs practice, once you get the balance its fine and keeps you clear of attack from bramble/ Blackberry bushes when cutting them back. You still need that harness if you are not as strong as you were in early days, the hook strap takes the weight.. All in all you get used to it one review said harness was useless, not so if set properly, not too lose,or tight. overall unitIs doing what I expected.

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to use this machine yet, but have put it together in the kitchen, seems to be robust and well made, but as earlier reviews state, is on the heavy side at full extension, so the harness will be of use, can't wait to get going with it, just waiting for the weather to improve.Had to laugh at the typo in the instruction manual, hope its a typo, "this machine is not intended for outdoor use"!!

Because the heavy electric motor is up by the blades at the top of the device, not down by the user, when its fully extened it can get very tiring on the arms and shoulders. The centre of gravity is all wrong. It works okay but not recommended for people with less strength

This is a very competent hedge trimmer for domestic use and just about cuts up to the stated 20mm branches if you proceed slowly and may need to attack some at the thicker end from both sides. I found it easy to assemble and use with the harness. It is slightly unwieldy as others have stated but that is the nature of a pole hedge cutter and as long as you proceed carefully and use the harness it is easy enough to handle. My tip is to practice getting the right angle of the blade and adjust the height so it is correct when sitting in the harness before switching on. As others have said for all hedge trimmers it is worth keeping the blades oiled before and after use with a light oil. Be safe!!
