Zazers Kosher Chewy Dragees Candy 16-count (Blue Respberry)

I ordered these as a hopeful replacement for Mentos. I've become a bit of a chewy dragee junkie after discovering some of the more exotic flavors of Mentos. I have purchased Mentos from over a half-dozen countries and when I saw these it was a no-brainer - just another flavor of Mento to try - right?Well, not quite. These are very similar to Mentos but there are some notable differences. First and most striking is the lack of tartness that the Mentos have. These are a good bit duller to the palette and often it is hard to tell one flavor from the next. It doesn't make or break them, but it is one star off compared to the mentos.The next difference is kind of odd. The Zazers have a MUCH GREATER product consistency. While this should be a plus, it kind of falls into the minus category because the Mento's inconsistency leaves you with the occasional improperly mixed flavor with mint mixed into a candy that shouldn't have mint, or my personal favorite, watermelon that for some reason is missing, or has added another flavor and creates a smooth, rich, creamy flavor that I've yet to name. I'll leave that neutral.Finally there is texture. Mentos, again, vary widely but usually fall with a certain expected range. Still some are harder than others (older?) and others are softer. But overall, the average mento has a better consistency than the average zazer - which is decidedly neutralish.In the end, it is a close call. If you consider Mentos to be five stars, (and I clearly do) then the Zazers fall into a low four or high three star rating. They aren't bad, but they also aren't mentos.

I decided to try these because I love Mentos and really wanted some new flavors that I couldn't find in the U.S. (like grape). These are less expensive than Mentos, so I went ahead and ordered these. They're . . . okay. Zazers are much softer than Mentos so I've found they don't last as long. And they have some sort of . . . perfume-y flavor. It's hard to describe, but for me, it's like I'm tasting women's perfume. Slightly off-putting. Next time I'll pay more money and spring for the Mentos. The Zazers arrived fresh and quickly, it's just my own personal tastes.

Love these candies; they are similar to Mentos in shape but are way tastier since they have a unique fruity flavor that I haven’t ever tasted before, I would highly recommend to put in gift boxes/stocking for this coming up holiday season and be sure to keep some in your back packs & in your guest rooms instead of mints.Very easy to chew, I'm using it as a supplement to gum chewing because gum always get me a dry mouth.All the flavors are great and also very well priced.

To my American taste these taste like those European candies. Less sweet and more fruity taste, but not a strong taste....I will not say bad , just more subdued and like all personal taste, that is my subjective statement.

Some of the zazers came in dry and brittle or stuck together. They have good flavor but lack consistency in quality.
