I ended up having no use for this bag, while its compact and well made there is no way to close the top of the bag so I had to ditch it. :(

Super compact daypack that can hold a ton of stuff
The Chicobag was a great purchase for use as a daypack while backpacking in Europe. My wife and I did 2+ weeks recently and this little pack was the perfect carry-on for planes or trains as well as just useful for lugging around items during our daily activities in town. We used the pack every day of the trip, so we did not need to fold it down, however it folds down into it's own zippered pouch to a size of about 4x6". Unzipped its a full backpack that can hold enough items for 2 people including jackets, anoraks, umbrellas, 2-3 full water bottles (it has side pocket spaces for 2), ipod, camera SD cards, gifts bought in town, camera, etc. The bag can be easily used as both a backpack and as a tote since the straps double as handles or shoulder straps. If using it as a tote however the top is open and therefore if you're in an area where there are a lot of pickpocketers they could reach in. If you're worried about theft, note that the bag's zipper pocket is just inside the top of the backpack and so you can store some items like your passport or ipod in there with the zipper closed to make sure no one is going to take it. My only negatives for this bag are that 1) it is not waterproof so if you are caught in a rainstorm it will get wet as well the contents of the bag and 2) the plastic clasps that allow you to tighten the straps can let loose a bit if you pull up on them slightly - what I mean by this is that if you're walking with the backpack and you bump the clasp with your elbow it may release the strap a bit in which case you'll just have to pull to tighten again. It happened to me a bunch however it was only a small nuisance and the bag's straps and clasps are strong. Additionally the straps have ends so they will not fall out of the clasps. All-in-all a fantastic bag for the price.

Least favorite Chico bag
I have *many* Chico bag products and this one is my least favorite.I ordered mine AFTER the person who said her bag zips at the top. Mine does not and I ordered it in 2015 and her review was in 2014. That's one problem. Another is the way it carries on your bag. You might as well just get the backpack. I've ordered three of those over the years.I also have the Messenger and Duffel bags, and those are great. OH, I almost forgot, the Sling bag is awesome, too. It's like the grocery bags, but bigger. I have two bottle sling bags that we like to use to carry our re-useable cups (the tall ones with lids and straws like they sell at Starbucks).Great products overall, just not this one.

It worked well for Disneyland, however, the straps do not work well for a man to carry. The straps do not give much slack.

Great bag and very compact for ultra light travel
Great bag and very compact for ultra light travel. I would say the only draw back is the more stuff you have in it the better it seems work. When nothing is it the bag loses its shape very easily and seems to sag.

It's a cool, small
It's a cool, small, lightweight pack. I like that it folds into the pocket. However I didn't notice until I received it, that it doesn't have a zipper, it closes by pulling the straps. Otherwise it's ok.

Love my Daypack
Love my Daypack, I use it when traveling and it is a perfect day bag. Just fold it back up an throw it in your suitcase when returning home. I highly recommend the Chico Bag reusable shopping tote as well.

Not as Pictured, Flimsy Construction
Very disappointed. Don't be fooled by the picture. The top part which looks like handles actually will not when you wear it as a backpack. It needs to descend and fold over the bag when you wear it. I was expecting a handle look while wearing the backpack and also zippered top closure. Instead, I got an open top lacking any type of closure. The flimsy mechanism involves you pulling the top together via the straps which are strung through a loop. This is a glorified grocery bag. Material is nice, construction is complex. However, don't trust your valuables like a wallet or cellphone in this.I paid $13 or so for it and hate it. The price is now in the $27 range. Wouldn't use it even if you gave it to me for free. The bag is very tiny!I was hoping to replace my Eddie Bauer folding day pack with this. EB's was able to pack zippers and a large size into a package similar to this one when compacted. Not sure what the designers of this one was thinking. The handles, when left in the up position make this shaped like your typical grocery bag, only the handles are longer. It's not like you can wear this over the shoulder. It will keep falling off! In the backpack position, your bag is square, not curvy as pictured. Also, the material has a nice feel but an ugly greasy looking sheen.I will be trying to return it.

Great little bag at a nice price
We use this bag often. We walk to the grocery store and bring home our purchases in this. It isn't very large, but suits our needs. Very well built, and a nice price

Really disappointed.
Ordered 5 of these as gifts some came with zippers across the top some did not. Some had usable shoulder straps others were unusable. Really disappointed.
