Ramshorn 6+ Red Snail

Was a bit worried since it came on a Saturday and the mailroom was closed until Monday, which meant that the snails had been in shipping for about 6 days. All arrived alive, with 6 snails plus one extra tiny one. I had to leave immediately after picking up my snails and plopping them into my tank, so I didn't get a good look at them, but most looked to be about medium-sized.I came back after a few hours and all of them were moving about, a couple of them already floating at the surface upside-down and munching on duckweed. I'll update this review if things change, but so far things seem to be going well.EDIT: It's been over a year now, and the 6 ramshorns have prospered and multiplied into countless other snails. I've had them in a 10-gal plastic tub for over a year with no filtration and a simple airstone, and none of them have crawled out of the water. Some of the original huge old ones have died (old age, I believe) while others are doing fine, though it's hard to tell now because a lot of them have grown large. They're living amongst dozens of other pond snails that snuck in on a plant, and they've eaten everything (including masses of floating Salvinia), with my duckweed being the sole survivor.Great snails!

Very disappointed to receive BLACK ramshorn snails when these were advertised as RED snails, even with a photo of red snails being used on Amazon. I specifically needed red snails, so these were of no use to me, but I have to keep them alive now that i have received them. supply what you advertise!

They arrived and were so small I could hardly find them on the wet paper wrapping they can in. I did get extra, but all were less that 2mm. I couldn’t tell if they were alive because they were so small. Beautiful red color though. Won’t buy again from this buyer

My original order was apparently made too early in the year and all arrived dead but seller said they would resend when temperatures went up. It made a huge difference in what I received. I would guess they range in size between 1/8 and 1/4 in. Was concerned about some that were floating when I put them in a temporary quarantine container but I guess they just get air in their shells easily. Hoping these guys like brown algae!

I Love them, got lots of different colors but the 3 bigger ones (gray and white) that were a 1/4th of an inch in size passed away within 4-7 days of receiving them. No baby snails yet. :( One bladder snail. No parasites. You tubed the acclimation process. Eating quite a bit of algae. Have to remove them from the original tank, with some algae growth, after turtle tried to eat one. :(Update: all died with 3.5 weeks. Will need to order more snails. Seller was not helpful; didn’t seem to care about them as long as they were received. They said they arrived alive, which was true. Kind of heartless, no discount to order more. Disappointed three weeks in, but Kind of fast shipping. Miss my Pinkie the only red/ pink one the most. Beautiful creatures.Update October 2020. I now have hundreds from this batch. Love them! I have pinkies blue ones and wild ones/ brown and black. They are everywhere in my two tanks including in the filters. They will be nearly impossible to get rid of if we run into that problem in the future if I ever get rid of my tanks.

All of them came healthy except for one that died along the way but they add extras just in case. They have done a good job cleaning up my tank, they've eaten all the annoying weird fuzzy algae that nothing else would eat.

More than expected, a total of eight snails. Three of the red ones are dead.
