As a plus 50 year old man reading this with my daughter was a pleaure...made me tear up, made us laugh, made us look forward to reading more!

I try to preview books my 8 year old son reads so I can tell how much of the story he gets. In this case I liked the story so much that I just kept reading to the end. Aside from the fact that his stories are funny and engaging Mr. Clements has a gift for not talking down to kids. It is obvious that he thinks of his audience as intelligent individuals who just happen to be young. Keep up the good work, sir! I am a big fan!

Strap in to join AC as he ventures further from reality than ever before in his children's books. Although this is listed user realistic fiction, realistic should be in quotation marks. Clements attempts to capture the world from the POV of a child genius with a photographic memory that starts from birth, an IQ well above Einstein’s with the social intelligence and critical thinking skills of a 5th grader to make it make it more relatable to the target audience. The narrator’s (the child genius’s) sharp wit and pithy dialog make the book an entertaining easy read but I could not help feeling personally insulted by the unexplained divergence between the character’s academic and social capabilities. --Amelia

I teach 4th grade. My class really enjoyed it and it led to a discussion on grades and keeping them in perspective.

I loved this book!I kinda got bored after reading for 20 minutes or so, butThat is my only complaint about this book.If you read in short timelines, this is a grate book for you. I love the detail in this book, Andrew Celments worked his butt off for this one! I have never read frendle, but I know that it will be 10 times better, all the reviews are amazing!

Good, quick read for elementary kids!

Liked the beginning of the story and didn't like how it ended . we had very high expectations from this book but the book's ending was not like we expected and was rather abrupt.
