A flat, white window film that does a good job.
My girlfriend’s bedroom window looks out over a courtyard where children often play, so the need to frost was obvious. Admittedly, I thought this was the grainy style of frosting film where the opaqueness comes from the rough texture as opposed to a colour. I’ve used this style before and really liked the look. This is a flat, milky white however.Nonetheless, it does the job well. The film stops the ability to look in or out without effecting the level of light coming into the room.Note that the instructions aren’t lying when they say the film needs time to ‘dry out’. After about 24 hours, the film looked really blotchy (see photo) but after a few more days, it was flawless. Additionally, the instructions call for a 3mm gap around the perimeter of the film. Personally, I went for something a little wider as it makes it super easy to squeegee the water out.Either way, take your time with the application and you can obtain a really tidy finish.

Nightmare. Will never use again.
Watched the YouTube video, thoroughly cleaned our windows and followed the instructions included to the letter. Product went on easily and very well, and when we’d finished, it looked really good and I was pleased with the product.... but less than 24 hours later, all the frosting started peeling off the windows. Reapplied the product to the windows as advised, but the following day the same thing happened, it started coming away from the windows. A week later and I’m still battling with the stuff peeling off despite applying and reapplying exactly as the instructions as advised and it’s very frustrating.Very dissapointed with this product, I wouldn’t recommend it and I won’t be buying it again.

Does the job! But buy some spare!
I accidentally ordered the frosted because Amazon pushed it as a cheaper item and was hard to see this difference in the product images as they are more situ based, rather than focussing on the product type. The instructions state to read them before un-packing the product, yet the instructions are wrapped up inside the middle of the product, therefore using only common sense, this is impossible! C'mon! They would be much better off printing a QR code or at least a link on where to watch their videos that make the understanding much more simple than the mass of text enclosed in parcel. Without the video, it would have ALL GONE WRONG! Research, check tools and clean before install! Plus, I had to rate ''sheerness'' as low because nobody (including Google) seems to know what this word means for definate! Lot's of over complicating from this company, they could EASILY make their products better for their customers in minutes by just adjusting their installation manual and advertising images. Other than these small issue's I would definately recommend their product to family or friends, but would definately explain the installation process better if I had recommended this. Some work to do, to improve.

Just what I needed!!
I rent a house, and somebody in their right mind, put a 15 x glass panel door on the bathroom! (Don't ask me why!) I had already bought a blind to go on the door, however you could still see through it.If you follow the instructions to the letter, it works perfectly, and is surprisingly easy. I done the whole door in around 90 mins. (Hardest thing was to peel of the backing off the sheet)If you are doing this type of glass/door, I would recommend cutting them slightly oversize, lining up one corner, then cut it to size using a Stanley blade.

5 Year Review
I applied this film in September 2016 (5 years ago at time of review) and it hasn't peeled or degraded at all.Application/installation requires some care, especially if you have furry pets, as anything that gets in behind the film will be preserved for future generations; this is no fault of the product.A slight static attraction will develop as you handle the film, so be very careful to keep the working area free of lint, pet hair etc. The tacky backing will grab and hold anything that gets in, so work slowly and methodically to avoid pressing any detritus into the tack (so you still have a chance to pick it off).Cut the film to slightly over size before removing the protective backing (keeps the tack clean) and only uncover a small amount at the top while at the window to avoid exposing too much tack at once.I installed the film on large paned windows without assistance, but a second pair of hands could have been useful at times; the film will stay more or less in place before squeegeeing out the water (physics is phun) as long as the edges aren't allowed to curl away, so a rough placement followed by adjustment prior to squeegeeing allows a single person to apply the film with care.It is possible to accidentally tear the film while installing, so be mindful of where tearing may start and take extra care to ensure it doesn't; this is no fault of the product. If I ever need any more of this film (if I move home), I will definitely get it from the same company (Active Window Films) as this has proven itself a quality product.

Window film
This film is perfect.Once it is up, nobody can see in from outside night or day, lights on or off.I didnt realise that I would not be able to see out either! It lets in the light and looks great.Putting it up was time consuming but had to get it right. Its worth watching the video as I found the written instructions that come with the film did not have the tips and advice that the video gives.I washed the windows really well, and put on the soapy water with a spounge. (1 teaspoon of washing up liquid to 1 pint of water). Then I applied the window film (which was already cut to size). I left about 1/2 " all the way round. After pushing the film into place, Iused my credit card to push out all of the air bubbles and excess water. Then I trimmed the edges by pushing the film into the edge of the frame and running a razor blade carefully along the edge. Then I carried on pushing the bubbles out and making sure the film was positioned correctly. The results were good and I have the privacy I need. Well worth the money and effort.
