Superb tuning accuracy, quick and easy to use
I play guitar and electric bass, and I've used many different electronic tuners over the past twenty years. This Korg tuner is one of the best I've ever used, only equaled by another Korg model I own. Compared to other tuners I've used, the Korg tuners have extremely accurate pitch - I get perfect tuning every time. The Korg tuners are also extremely good at "locking in" to the exact note you play while tuning, while many other electronic tuners hunt around and do a poor job of staying locked to the note from the instrument while you tune. This inexpensive Korg tuner is also a chromatic tuner, meaning it still works even if you tune your guitar down to, say, E-flat rather than E tuning. This gives you more flexibility than the specialized guitar/bass electronic tuners, which can only recognize E, A, D, G, B, E guitar tuning. This tuner has no illumination of its own, so it is not a good choice for tuning up on a dark stage. It is also not an inline tuner, so it is not ideal for tuning up unobtrusively in front of an audience. But for practice, rehearsal, or before-the-show tuning, it is perfect. It's inexpensive, and works very well - what more can you want?

Great tuner!!!
I recently started teaching myself how to play the guitar. I bought an acoustic off my friend and I've been using online lessons on Youtube and About.com to learn. I had been practicing for about a month and realized that I had not tuned it since my friend did it when I bought it off him. I saw this tuner and thought I would give it a shot. Definitely worth it. It's easy to use and works great. It has in input and output socket for an electric guitar (I'm guessing). It also has a stand on the back, so you can prop it up while tuning. Small enough to fit in your pocket. I recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable tuner.

It works quite well, as expected.
I play bass in a church and use it several times a week, and have lent it to the other members as needed. Actually, with a severe hearing loss that my hearing aids do not fully correct, along with untrained ears, I rely on it! We all tune to the piano and the large scale allows me to see it where ever I put it. The microphone works quite well for acoustic instruments. The speaker is too weak to be of much use. With my big "Bear Paws" hands, the small buttons are a bit difficult to use. Nothing unusual, but I put some good brand name batteries in it prior to using it. I do wish that it came in black, but that is a minor issue. Amazon pricing is quite competitive, and I received the unit faster than advertised. I would definitely recommend this product.

Very happy... Very pleased :)
I write music using software programs such as Kontakt and Reaper. Often the samples I use from 3rd party sample providers can be out of tune. In fact, this problem has been a constant annoyance throughout the years when I used to do the same thing with other music writing software. The mis-pitch was never super obvious, but it was just enough to mislead your ear sometimes, then rear it's ugly head when listening to your work. I could never quite tell against the music which particular instrument samples were causing the out of tune sound I kept hearing. Was it the bass that was just a touch too sharp but not enough to be a whole step off, or the other sounds such as guitars that were a bit flat? And which one's were true and accurate anyways? So I bought this little guy after reading a few reviews on Amazon. I wasn't sure if buying something that seemed to average about 15 - 20 dollars would work right, but the positive reviews helped reassure me. I just opened it today, and sent the sound signal from my headphone jack in my laptop, directly into the device, using an 1/8 to 1/4 jack converter, as well as a "Y" split that went to my headphones, so I could hear the notes and samples I'd be tuning according to the Korg CA-40. Within minutes now (hence my reason for coming on here and writing a review) I have songs that previously drove me crazy due to the lopsided tuning I'd always hear, to now having samples that are all perfectly in true tune with each other!!! Pitch frustrations that have bothered me many many times, and even for years now solved thanks to this little guy. I am very happy and pleased with this product. For something so simple and cost friendly, the Korg CA-40 Chromatic Tuner is all you need. It's my hope that someone doing exactly what I'm doing, and who's had the same problems I have, can know that there is a 20 dollar fix that is well worth it. :)

Excellent Travel Friendly Tuner
Really great, very accurate for most instruments and much appreciated at gigs and concerts before the warm up. Far better than apps on a phone. Small size, fits into the front pocket of my flute case, or in a jacket pocket. Easy to use and so far has never run out of battery (years later!). Great tool to have for any level of player, even at home to check tuning throughout practices. Well worth the money,
